December is here ... #day 1 #Red

Welcome to December, cold weather, hot cocoa, gingerbread, warm food ... and lots of sillyness in our house. Of course we are not ready to decorate for xmas yet, how couldi even imagine putting up xmas decorations on Thanksgiving weekends. I am definitely not so American that I can even consider that ...well that's the German in me. However it is not a reason not to make silly xmas crafts already ... and I can eat German Lebkuchen all year around if it would be available.

So for now smile at Rudolph, the only xmas decoration visible in our house yet, and we are getting ready to make beer bread and the first batch of xmas cookies.

buttons + canvas + glue gun = heart

I played with a tin can filled with buttons, an empty canvas and a hot glue gun this evening on the floor because I forgot my extension cord for the extremely short end of the glue gun. eventually soren could just not resist joining me down there and had his hands in the buttons, too. there are like magnets.

what's happening at our kitchen table

One little tiger busy on the kitchen table crafting. Would I not love to switch places with him, not necessarily under the tiger mask, but it must from advantage to be in disguise once a while. :) Instead I am still reading the same book over and over again for my last final of the semester that is left and then .... how many things are waiting to be done, what would I like to do .... how much time will I have ... ? At least I little bit for joining this crafty tiger at the  kitchen table ... Have a great day everybody.

Art City Austin vs. Country Life

Last weekend the Art City Austin took place along the river in Auston on Cesar Chavez Street. We parked next to the COnvention Center and the kids already complained that they have to walk a few blocks there because it looked sooooooo far away on the map. However when we passed the Congress Plaza all whining was forgotten. On the grass and in the trees tumbled at least 10 to 20 squirrels and kept coming back and forth closer and closer. The kids and me took plebty of pictures of them, but my favorites ones are these two, even they came out blurry of the little speedy squirrel. Videotaping definitely works best for these and is hillarious, too.

We eventually arrived at the corner of 2nd Street/ Cesar Chavez and explored the arts, crafts, games and music at the Art City.

The kids testd their skills on a street game of chess. I am not sure if any of the three knows all the rules, but the mega sized chess pieces definitely were the most interetsting art to play with and i got a break in the shade.

We didn't stop at Jo's and didn't shared our food with the birds, because just a block further is  our favorite ice cream shop "Berry Austin' and for that place the kids would walk many blocks further wih just slightly complaining. :) We passed the Children's Museum and a visit there is added to our summer plans, but I automatically include the Congress Bridge, too, because we love to see the Austin's Bats again.

...and eventually we were on the way back to the country life ....

We had hot temperatures during in Austin, but it must have been pouring down north of us while we were gone and Bella kept taking pictures from the sky and the dark clouds. We stopped in between on the Highway 180 .... took pictures of two silly kids and ended up bringing a bunch of flowers home.

please, do it again ...

Every other day when it is cold outside or we are simply short of time Soren is bugging me with washing the car.  If Chiara is bugging me with car washing then she wants to go through the automatic carwash at the barn, however I admit I prefer Soren's bugging. Because Soren knows where our carwash buckets is and to scrup the car until it is covered in soap and that free of charge. By the time the water hose is getting turned on Brynne Bee is not far away and usually not just the car is wet, but the dog included and all the 'car washers', too, no more shower needed. Bella rather watched last Saturday while those two had a blast. Perhaps I have a chance of getting a repeat performance today again, because it is desperately needed. Again.  .... And nobody is calling it a chore.

one little bunny

행복한 부활절  - haengboghan buhwaljeol -

doesn't seam so difficult, but I just can't pronounce it right today. :)

so simply

Happy Easter! or Frohe Ostern!

We failed miserably coloring our easter eggs marbelized with shaving cream and food coloring after the instructions from pinterest, BUT the kids had a blast and made a big mess. Shaving cream was everywhere. We should just have skipped the eggs and it would have been the same fun. LOL. We hope you spend a wonderful weekend and if possible with your family and all your loved ones.
